WHO WE SUPPORT
Funding Policy
1. The Objects of Global Gift Foundation UK (“the Charity”)
Under the terms of the Trust, the Trustees apply funds at their discretion:
The Objects of the charity:
To make a positive and lasting impact on the lives of children with special needs.
In particular, through the provision of both –
- an appropriate UK multifunctional support centre, and
- financial assistance and partnerships with other organisations which support children.
The Trustees of Global Gift Foundation UK seek to support those activities for purposes which help further the Objects.
2. Priorities for support
- The number of projects which can be supported is, of necessity, limited to the amount of funds available for distribution in any year. The Trustees have determined that the priorities for funding over the next year will be (a) setting up one support centre; and (b) supporting organisations that further their exclusively charitable purposes.
- Charitable Purposes to be supported include:
To advance such charitable purposes (according to the law of England and Wales) in any part of the UK as the Trustees see fit from time to time.
- The Trustees will consider supporting other organisations that further their purposes as and when funds allow.
3. Principles
In awarding funding, the Trustees will apply the following principles:
- Applications from Organisations working to aid and support those children with special needs.
- All applications from previous recipients of funding or from previously unsuccessful applicants will be considered by the Trustees on their own merits. Although the Trustees will have regard to the outcome of the previous grant, any new application will in no way receive preferential or adverse consideration.
- The Charity will willingly work in partnership with other organisations to fund initiatives beyond the financial scope of a single organisation.
4. Exclusions
The Trustees will not approve the use of the Charity’s funds for:
- Purposes for which fall outside of the purposes.
5. Grant application process
All applications for funding should be made in the first instance to Global Gift Foundation UK and clearly marked for the attention of the Trustees. Applications can be made by via the website or in writing.
- Information requirements before awarding funding

- Inform the Trustees of the purpose of the application, details of the purpose, the way in which the funding will be used in the furtherance of charitable purposes.
- Provide adequate information regarding the identity and financial status of the applicant, if applicable.
- No funding will be considered retrospectively.
6. Assessment process
- All funding applications will be subject to initial assessment to ensure they meet the basic criteria for funding. Funding will be considered by the Trustees at their meetings, and the Trustees will aim to notify all applicants informing them of the outcome of their application for funding within four weeks of the date of the application.
- Initial applications will be screened at a Trustees’ meetings, and a final decision will also take place at a meeting of the Trustees.
- Applicants should note that, as with many other charitable trusts, Global Gift Foundation UK is expected to receive far more applications that it has funds to support. Even if a project fits within the criteria and priorities of the Charity and a detailed assessment has been made, the Charity may still be unable to provide funding.
- The Trustees will not be obliged to provide an explanation to the applicant should their application be unsuccessful.
7. Monitoring and Publication
- It is the policy of the Trustees to monitor all funding made. Evidence will be required to confirm that the funds have been used in accordance with the purpose of the funding.
